He Said: Jiddu Krishnamurti


"We are inclined to imitate, to copy, to follow ideals, heroes; and what happens? Gradually the flame of creativity is lost and only the picture, the symbol, the word remains, without anything behind it. We are taught to memorize, and this is obviously not creative. There is no understanding in merely remembering things that you have read in books, or that you have been taught; and when throughout life memory alone is cultivated, real understanding is gradually destroyed."
