Of Course Attitude Is Everything!

A Note From The British VOGUE Editor: Francesca Burns

"Are Bloggers The New Paparazzi? And Photographing Someone And Using Their Picture Without Permission Legal?

THIS POST IS NOT IN ANY WAY DIRECTED TOWARDS THE PROS-BILL, TOMMY, SCOTT, TAMU, GARANCE, HANNALEI, PHIL O AND A SMALL NUMBER OF OTHERS WHO ARE AND HAVE ALWAYS BEEN TRUE PROFESSIONALS,VERY RESPECTFUL AND IMPORTANT TO OUR INDUSTRY.

The blogging situation outside the shows this season is absolutely out of control. I’ve been harassed, chased, verbally insulted and spat at, I’ve even had some creep take a picture zoomed in on my breasts. I’ve asked repeatedly to be left alone and I have been chased and hounded. We have come to accept the reportage culture as an important part of our industry. But what I would like to know is if being photographed against your will and without your permission is legal, and if charges can be brought against someone who uses these non-consensual photographs of you for their own self promotion, and subsequent commercial gain. I think the time has come to control the blogging. Bloggers should have proper accreditation and follow a code of conduct, just as all journalists have to. Enough is enough."

Lyrical Affair: Mos Def - Hurricane

Mos Def's verse always sneaks up on me. It reminds me of a friend of mine who introduced me to this track. Check it out below:

"Yes, I am the inescapable, the irresistible,
The unnegotiable, the unchallenged [who dat?]
I am time
I scroll in measurements, control the elements,
I hold the evidence, I tell the story [say what?]
I am time
I know no prejudice, I bare no sentiments
For wealth or settlement, I move forward [who you?]
I am time
You can't recover me, conceal or smuggle me,
Retreat or run from me, crawl up or under me,
You can't do much for me besides serve
Me well and have good dividends returned to you
Or attempt to kill me off and have me murder you
Many have wasted me but now they are facing me,
Treated me unfaithfully and now endure me painfully
Plaintively, I wait to see what history will shape to be,
Whose hearts will never die inside the sake of me
Angel's scribe the page for me,
Keep a full account of all the names for me
And make a special mark for Hurricane who waited patiently"

Or maybe that's just me overreacting, I don't know but that puts Time in perspective.

Any who, ttby

Dear Unborn Child...

I grew up in a family that's obsessed with Music. Me mom, sisters and dad, so it's only safe to say that it was pretty much engraved in my soul from a young age.
I fell in love with this picture yesterday on dustandgroove while researching some new music. It reminds me of when I used to listen to the likes of Teddy Pendergrass and nodding my head while my dad would watch killing himself with laughter. I too can't wait to have kids so I can watch them wild out with the collection I'll have for them by the time they 'get here'. Whenever that is \o/

She Said/He Said: Roy

“Our strategy should be not only to confront empire, but to lay siege to it. To deprive it of oxygen. To shame it. To mock it. With our art, our music, our literature, our stubbornness, our joy, our brilliance, our sheer relentlessness — and our ability to tell our own stories. Stories that are different from the ones we’re being brainwashed to believe. The corporate revolution will collapse if we refuse to buy what they are selling — their ideas, their version of history, their wars, their weapons, their notion of inevitability. Remember this: We be many and they be few. They need us more than we need them.” - Roy

Thank You Coldplay

What an absolute pleasure this concert was. The Parlotones were amazing, as usual. I love Khan and his stage presence.

What Coldplay showcased was something completely phenomenal. I could not believe my eyes. So many thoughts crossed my mind and all i kept thinking was "Am I dreaming?" "Is this happening?" "OMG, are these actual real balloons and balls floating everywhere?" "Are those electric lights spraying across the stadium?" "Are my eyes getting teary?" "Is Ani smiling on her own to the music?" "Did Chris just make us do the Mexican wave with our cellphones?" "I wish Kate was here to see all this" "Am I slow dancing by myself in a crowd of 1000's of people?" "I haven't had anything to eat or drink though".

Coldplay was like grown people's magical love circus. There was love in the air accompanied by balloons, balls and beautiful colours.

I loved each and every nano second of it. It is by far the BEST concert I've EVER experienced. And I have watched Grace Jones and Buena Vista Social Club.

May that experience live forever 'til eternity in my soul.

P.S. Don't ever stop the Music!

From Apple To The World

"Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple."

R.I.P Mr. Steve Jobs

"Here's to the Crazy Ones. The misfits. The rebels. The trouble-makers. The round pegs in the square holes.
The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status-quo.
You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify, or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore
them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them
as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think
they can change the world - are the ones who DO!"
