Smashing Fashion: Shala Monroque

This is one of my favorite ladies in the Fashion industry. I love her style. Lately she's been rocking a lot of Prada so immediately when I saw this shot on hanneli I instantly thought it was Prada but nah, its Hermes.

I looove this coat.

Hold On To My Money o_O

So...

A few weeks ago a friend of mine was telling me that she just had a meeting with her financial adviser. I was surprised to hear that she even has an adviser. Let alone in finance. So I asked her exactly what does this person do and most importantly how does she fit into her life. So she broke it down for me as quick and easy as possible. I understood...a lil'. So I asked her if I could lend her 'helper' and she was very happy as these people depend on referrals.

Weeks went by and finally we met yesterday for lunch in our canteen here at work. I have to say, I was a bit nervous about disclosing basic information on my finances. I don't know why. One thing I know for sure is that I'm terrible when it comes to my finances.
The first thing she asks is how much do I earn and I swear my ears curled a little. And then right there and then it hit me that i knew how bad and impulsive I have been all this time.

After an hour of assessing my impulsive spending habits, she broke it down saying that I need to be patient when I want something. I must give myself time to sit back and ask myself how much I want or need it. She said I waste close to 2K each month. So going forth i need to keep a list of what i spend my money on. However small it may seem, from a packet of chips to how much I tip in restaurants. Hmm...sounds tricky already.

I am anxious to see how far I am going to go with this, and also, how its going to change my financial health.

I will keep you posted on my progress. Fingers crossed!

kea leboga!

All it takes is one phone call to my street team

Set It Off with the eighty-fitay
Y'all missin the buck, with the fuck
Bump Biggie in the trunk and the buck to my thorough bitches
Lemme see ya do tha bankhead if ya richest
It's the rap Mae West to Q-B
And I got all my sisters with me

Chorus:

Oh this is ladies night, and our rhymes is tight
Oh this is ladies night, oh what a night (oh what a night)
Oh this is ladies night, and the feel is right
Oh this is ladies night, oh what a night (oh what a night)

Verse Two: Left Eye

Getcha back up on the right path
Ain't no stoppin me ladies from club hoppin gets my rock on
From flavors still frozen at Paradise joint

Right hand sayin step-son
To me my girls is fancy fly bitches
Too my niggaz straight snitches, to them other chicos
Lady pimp ain't havin that shit
If you ain't got the cash to stash, suck my dick hoes
Strictly a bell ringer
Lay another finger on this big bad one miss lady rap singer
I be the one to blame as the flames keep risin
To the top and it don't stop

Chorus

Verse Three: Da Brat

Y'all see, how these bogus niggaz try not to notice the dopest bitches
Approachin with good intentions but focusin on they riches
If it's, too hot then get the fuck up out the kitchen
Niggaz dicks, stay lifted when they thinkin of me
Cause the rhythm I kick, puzzle them like arithe-ma-tic
Fillin em with, sluggers off the nine milli luger click
Bitches bust, we just, keep kickin up dust
And you can spread rumors shit is makin me sicker than head tumors
Humor me, by huggin me sayin you lovin me
Playa phony niggaz be buggin, I can tell
cause the thug in me wanna sell drugs and push keys
Need to get me mo' of deez, VV's and M3's
Smoke weed from overseas pimped out styled Rol-eys
Fuck the police keep my wallet obese

I Fell In Love With This...

my beautiful girl,

you are asleep beside me, and despite the deep rumbles and grating gears of the passing vehicles on the highway outside our window, I feel so content, listening to your breathing, and the wind in the tall backyard tree, and now it is silent of all cars and trucks and roadnoise, and now it is nicer than it was before. with you I have learnt the most about myself, and consequently the world, and with you I am calmest, clearest, happiest, realest, warmest, and all other superlatives that could be used to describe just how right things are with you. I have said it a few times but I'm not sure I've ever truly been able to express just how much I appreciate you, your presence in my life, all of the things I have learnt from you both directly and indirectly. the world will change and change often, sometimes dramatically, but I know our love will always remain. we are the strongest of the strong, and I will never leave your side.

thank you for all that you have blessed me with. i am indebted to you.

yours for all time, and timelessness,
m

Eye See Music: Mara Hruby

So, I was dancing in my latest biggest circle of creativity that is tumblr today researching anything interesting out there. Then I stumbled across this gorgeous sweet faced lady, Mara Hruby. Oh my, where do I start with her music... She has a very pearly soft mellow voice that matches her face and just makes you want to listen to each and every breath of word that comes out her mouth, but with so much easy soul.

Her vocal references for me would be Tweet & Amel Larrieux. She just does cover tracks, with my favorite one being Mos Def 'The Panties'. What makes her such a gem is the way she carries her notes in her music. You almost forget that she's singing over a 'rented track'.

Young Marley Covers Young VOGUE

Just years ago I remember hearing rumours that Lauryn Hill was pregnant with her second baby. Now the 13 year old Selah Marley is a grown young lady featuring in Teen Vogue magazine. I still think she looks nunus.

Time sure flies...
